The ever-popular Geelong West Monster Book Fair returns to the Geelong West Town Hall this Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February.
The bi-annual event is organised by the Rotary Club of Geelong West, with all proceeds from sales directed towards local and international causes and community projects. The Book Fair will see thousands of books, across many genres, available for purchase for $1 (paperbacks) and $2 (hard covers). So you can grab a bargain while supporting some very worthwhile causes, including the Bushfire Relief Fund, the Drought Relief Fund, the Barwon Health Patient Transport program and and other charitable programs. Geelong West Rotary Club President, Freda Wright, said “It is amazing to think that by simply buying and reading some $1 and $2 books you are helping to change lives – just a small contribution but such a big result.” Cr Ron Nelson, Chair of Geelong Regional Libraries, said the library had supported the Fair for many years through the donation of books which have been ‘retired’ from the library collection. "We are very proud to be able to support such a worthy initiative in this way. It is wonderful to see items from our collection finding new homes in the community rather than ending up in landfill,” Cr Nelson said. The Geelong West Monster Book Fair opens at 9.00am on Friday 21 February. Dates/Times: Friday 21 February, 9.00am – 8.00pm Saturday 22 February, 9.00am – 5.00pm Sunday 23 February, 9.00am – 2.00pm
Location: Geelong West Town Hall, 153 Pakington Street
